The Good Life is Calling is a campaign within the Nebraska Department of Economic Development in which their goal is highlight "the good life" in Nebraska. It emphasizes three values which are Live, Work and Play.
This was a year-long internship I had from April 2023 to May 2024 in which I was the social media/marketing intern. My role included creating and helping create a social content calendar for each month, creating posts for Instagram and Facebook daily, traveling to different parts of Nebraska to conduct interviews and cover stories to share across our social pages.
'Highlighting the Good Life' video project
A requirement for all of NDED's interns is to come up with a "big project" to wrap up their year. It could be anything we wanted it to be. I've always wanted to incorporate my video skills/editing in some way, shape or form, so I decided to travel across the state to different cities.
I wanted to create a video that highlights different people and jobs within the state, and so I traveled to Chadron, O'Neill, West Point, and Omaha. Throughout this 6 month project, I met business owners and leaders in the community and got to speak with them about what makes Nebraska so special.
